The Counselling Hub Charity

Our aim: Inspiring people's lifestyles to improve mental wellbeing and support a circular economy

We're on a mission

Our mission is to provide helpful services to reduce mental health stigma and empower people to make positive lifestyle changes.

We're a Charity of passionate volunteers and individuals with lived experience of how mental health and suicide impacts people, families, communities, business and society.

We're dedicated to making mental health a part of daily chats, just like we discuss the weather. This daily lifestyle chat extends to raising awareness of the circular economy and the actions we can take to protect our planet’s health.

We contribute to preventing suicide, poverty, mental health inequalities, and societal waste.

What we do

We work with adults affected by or through, depression, self-harm, anxiety and suicide.

We provide mental and emotional health services which include 1-1 counselling talking therapies, drop-in group support, mediation help and social connection support.

We also operate a preloved hub shop, Number 9 Wrexham Street, in Mold town centre.  The shop is a one-stop hub of community services and planet help. Companies and the public generously donate pre-used items or new goods to our hub shop. We also provide a convenient house or company clearance service with our van collection, making it easier for people to donate.

The money we generate from our hub shop pays towards making our mental and emotional health support services accessible to the public. We understand that financial hardship can be a barrier to seeking mental and emotional health support, so we aim to help people access our one-to-one counselling service, regardless of their financial situation.

Our one stop shop offers affordable prices that helps people with the cost of living, creates employment, offers volunteer roles, creates voluntary placements for life skills and provides basic essentials support for people and families in need (food, toiletries , toys and discounts).

As a town centre and high street retailer, we serve our local communities and proudly contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Welsh economy.

Charity background

We started our work in 2016, grassroots formed by local people for local people. We set up our work due to the increase of unfortunate suicide and mental health issues our communities were experiencing.  We became a registered charity in May 2018.

We run on goodwill energy

We power our operations with over 200+ amazing people who voluntarily support us, a dedicated, skilled Trustee Board and 12 brilliant volunteers who provide a regular retail service at our preloved hub shop. We have a small team of passionate, dedicated staff who help us run. And, we're grateful to have thousands of caring, generous members of the public and fantastic companies who donate goods and services to our cause.
